Continuing to make improvements, the next project for the members was the electrification of the Abbey Street Church. The Leaders Meeting approved the installation of electric light with globes in the church and the Lynn Hall at a cost of £34.17s 6p and £9.19s 0p respectively, subject to the approval of the Circuit Stewards.

The site lying between the two great Cathedrals of St Patrick, not only retains the physical link to the first memorable visit of Mr Wesley in 1747 when he preached in McGeough’s Avenue in Abbey Street, but somehow captures in a ‘spiritual sense’, Wesley’s vision of mission to all “The world is my Parish”, and to be “Friends of All, Enemies of None”.
